Formation of Medellin Rental Association:
In Medellin and throughout Colombia many groups have been organizing to fight changes bought forth by a new law to regulate and potentiall stop most short term rentals in Colombia. Stay in contact with us, and join the movement which currently consist of many agencies, and owners across Colombia. The organization is growing faster, but we need all the help we can get so we can send a strong message to congress in Bogota by November 5, 2009
Our first meetings were held with most of our strongest competition, and since then all of us have been reaching out to our contacts throughout Medellin and the rest of Colombia. We have many collegues located in Bogota, Cartegena, and Santa Marta at this time. The push is going strong, and the number of network of people working in this business is becoming quite strong.
Formation of Asociación Colombiana de Vivienda Turistica (ACOVITUR):
As we met with other local groups the name has changed from its English name to a Spanish name ACOVITUR, OR Asociación Colombiana de Vivienda Turistica. Which roughly translates into Colombian Assocation of Turistic Homes.
